Who is Caring Cabs?
A chaperone service assisting patients, who have been sedated/anaesthetised, with a high quality registered healthcare professional, and using a trusted third party taxi firm, to assist them safely home.
How do I pay?
A stripe payment link will be messaged to you.
We accept Amex, Visa, Mastercard and Apple Pay.
Upon completion of job, an invoice will be issued to your WhatsApp of the balance (minus the deposit).
What else do I need to pay?
Guide prices assuming 2 hours minimum for chaperone, taxi and congestion charge. Actual prices dependent on distance and time required. There is a 30% surcharge for same day service to source healthcare professionals at short notice.
What happens if there is a delay to my discharge?
We appreciate this can happen due to unforeseen circumstances and we will be reasonable in reviewing each case. Generally, there will be a £17.50 charge for every 15 minutes increment.
Can I book same day?
Yes however a 30% additional charge will be required to source high quality, professionally registered healthcare staff at short notice.
What happens on the day of my procedure?
Caring Cabs will confirm the name of the chaperone, taxi’s model & registration number.
The chaperone will arrive 30 minutes after your discharge time, will check your name, address, DOB and reference number before escorting you to your home with our taxi partner.
Once you are through your door, the chaperone will wait 5-10 minutes to ensure you require no further assistance.
What happens if I need to cancel?
Cancellation less than 24 hours notice, you will be charged £70.
Cancellation between 24 - 36 hours notice, you will be charged £35.
Cancellation more than 36 hours, you will be fully refunded.
Who are your healthcare professionals?
Nurses and ODP who are band 5 or above. We check their DBS and indemnity insurance to ensure the safety of the patients. Occasionally, we will also use Band 3 based on their experience.
What else do I need to know?
Should you need wheelchair access, please notify Caring Cabs as soon as possible.
This service is not suitable for patients requiring medical monitoring during the transit.
Emergency Procedures - if you become unwell during the journey the chaperone will decide, in conjunction with your treating clinic, whether to bring you back to the clinic, head to the emergency dependent or call 999.
All our chaperones have Basic Life Support training, are professionally registered and security cleared.
